Travel Advisory

At Affordable Travel we offer advise on how to make travel affordable. There is no point in making it affordable though if you miss your flight. As you will now well know by now given the events of Christmas Day on the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, there are a number of new measures being taken to improve the safety of all airline passengers. These increased security measures have meant significant increases in security lines.

Please prepare to be at the airport well in advance of your flight to the US and be prepared to follow the specific new carry on requirements. Here are some specific recommendations:

- Arrive 3 hours in advance
- Reduce small carry on(only one carry on is being allowed and what this consists of is different by airline, check with your airline website in advance)
- No TV on flights originating in Canada and destined to the USA
- Be prepared for a physical pat down

- Changes occur regularly, check with your airline before leaving for the airport

Additional information is also available at www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca. however it is still recommended that you check with your airline as they may have variations to the restrictions.

Happy and safe affordable travel!
